The scenic Garden Route is the central part of the South coast between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth.
Together with bordering regions this part of South Africa showcases some of the best sceneries of the country: breathtaking beaches and surfer hotspots, the whale-watching center Hermanus, the soft rolling hills of the Overberg, the dry Karoo with seemingly endless space and sky, thick forests and numerous picturesque lagoons and lakes and popular small holiday resorts along the way like Knysna, Plettenberg Bay or San Francis Bay.
In addition to that the Garden route also features some fine (and malaria free) nature and game reserves!
